Transfer family photos successfully to fabric

A variety of fabrics can be used but you must take into consideration several factors...

• It is better to use 100% cotton (bleached or unbleached muslin) or poly/cotton blend as higher temperatures can be used to press it into the fabric.
  
  

• Pre-washing is not necessary but recommended as it removes any surface treatment applied to the fabric when manufactured.
  
  

• We recommend white or light colored fabric as the tone will alter the final outcome of the photos.
   
  

• The transferred colors are fairly translucent and will combine with whatever they're put on.  White is better for colors.  A yellowish muslin will turn a blue sky green but on the other hand will add an aged look to black and white.
  
  

• An assortment of photos can be pressed onto on large piece of fabric (Example A) leaving enough space for seam allowance or photos can be centered on your pre-cut squares (Example B).

Research has been done to select equipment and materials to produce the best products to meet our quality standards.

The  equipment has been calibrated to use only our transfer material.  Because it must be stored and run under specific conditions we cannot use other transfer materials purchased in catalogs or computer stores.

The manufacturer of our particular transfer material does not recommend home pressing.  They recommend pressing only with a commercial heat press in order for it to be permanent.
